TABEL

The possibilities are seemingly endless when it comes to choosing a table that suits you and your family's needs. Although the color and style options are endless, they apply to all dining tables and choosing the right table There are a few basics that are important. Below that is the size, shape, and base type of the table itself.

Shape Of The Table

The shape of the table you choose should fit comfortably in your dining room and can affect the number of people that can be seated at the table. The two most common shapes for tables are rectangular and circular. Rectangular (or oval) shapes are best suited for elongated rooms and offer the most table top space in rooms of this shape. If you need to seat many people (6 or more) at a table, the rectangular option usually offers the most seating. Round tables are popular in square rooms, dining areas, and open concept spaces that lead to other spaces such as living rooms. A round table can be intimate and cozy because all the people at the table are facing each other, but it usually seats only 4-6 people.

Base Of The Table

The table base - the legs that support the table top - not only affects the appearance of the table, but also the fit of the chairs and the comfort of your guests. Many rectangular tables have four legs on the corners of the table. This allows the chairs to be tucked closer to the table and avoids the problem of pedestals or trestles interfering with the feet of people under the table. Some large rectangular sizes have trestles that remove the legs from the corners of the table and instead provide structural support in the center of the table. including being able to position and place multiple chairs at the short end.

Size Of The Table

Most rectangular and round tables are available in standard sizes, although there are several contract companies that can make tables in the size you need. Rectangular and oval tables: For small rectangles, the standard is 30" or 36" wide and 48" long. Four people can comfortably sit at the small rectangular table. These sizes may have a leaf that extends the table to over 60 inches long, comfortably seating 6 people. The most common rectangular size is 42 inches wide by 60 inches long. This size fits 6 people comfortably, and most tables come with leaves that extend the table beyond 60 inches to allow for even more seating.

A common diameter for a round table is 36 inches (for two people).42" and 48" rounds (for 4 people)  54" or 60" round (for 6 people). If these tables have extension leaves, they are typically about 18 inches tall and can accommodate 2 more people.
